Kultur 11 Zach Schmitt

The readings for this chapter were pretty surprising for me. Before when the Berlin Wall has been brought up I always thought that it was a great thing, that all of the Germans supported it. But after the readings I found that many people wish the wall was back, this was very shocking. I wonder if the wall were to be rebuilt whether they would find it better than it is right now or if it is in fact just Ostalgie.

I had some idea that the North and South had problems with each other, but I didn't know that it went that far. I could not imagine building a huge wall between the North and South of the United States, but the Germans seem to enjoy the idea of this.
