Deutsche Welle:
-"Mauer im Kopf"- the wall in the head
- East Germans refer to westerners as "Besser-Wessies" or know it alls
- West Germans refer to easterners as "Jammer Ossies" or whining easterners
- Seems to be a lot of negative stereotyping of both sides and has been passed down to the younger generations

Ostalgie:
- Ostalgie- nostalgia for aspects of regular daily life in East Germany
- East Germans felt the culture in the former GDR disappeared after reunification

Backward Southerners:
- North and South Germany don't get along
- Southern Germans are Catholic while Northern Germans are Protestant
- Primary issue is prejudice
- Some Northerners are referred to as "flat-landers"
