It is not new to me that Germans do not get along with or trust each other. It hard imagining this because our country lives off being unified and very patriotic. I can see a similarity with our country during the Civil War between the Union and the Confederates. However, that was over a hundred years ago. The Berlin Wall was torn down in 1989. It takes generations to recover from events like war or unification.
